January [Written 2009]

She laid beside him for a moment, wondering if it was the wrong time to mention their future. She felt him shifting to be closer to her so she wrapped an arm around his torso and kissed his shoulder. She decided that, instead of trying to discuss the future with him, she would take advantage of the moment. ‘ This may never happen again,’ she reminded herself, so she paid attention to every detail. She traced the contours of his body with her fingertips, took in the scent of the room, of his skin, she watched the flickering flame from a candle sitting on the nightstand. She kissed the base of his neck again, then his collarbone. He groaned, then playfully asked, “What are you thinking?” She stayed silent, not wanting to express what was truly on her mind. That Night [Written 2009]

**smut warning** The drive to his apartment was boring. He asked me how my day had been and I began venting about how terrible the morning was. I don't know why I thought that would be a good idea, except that he was eating so, perhaps I just thought that it was an easy thing to talk about so that he wouldn't have to respond much. We pulled into his place and he pointed across the parking lot towards his bike. I liked it because it was black, red – or burgundy – and sliver. It looked pretty, but I'm still not sure how comfortable I'm going to be if he ever asks me to ride it. Then I asked him what he had to take in. After he listed off a few things, I helped him to carry the bags up the stairs to his apartment. He walked first so he could unlock and open the doors to his apartment complex.
